Spaghetti is a type of noodle (I think the size is #10). It's thicker than angel hair pasta, but skinnier than linguini or fettucini.
Ziti is a size of pasta, similar to Penne or rigatoni. There are tube-style pastas.
These are all referred to as PASTAS or NOODLES.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasta PASTA VARIETIES:
Pasta comes in many different shapes and sizes. There are simple string-shaped pasta like spaghetti, angel hair, vermicelli, and ribbon-shaped ones like fettuccine and linguine, short tubes like elbow macaroni and penne, large sheets like lasagna, and hollow pasta stuffed with filling, like ravioli, manicotti, and tortellini.
The basic ingredients are often the same, the shape and characteristics of surface makes various kind of pasta well suited for different kind of dressing.
Lasagna is also a pasta dish. It uses long flat pasta (known as lasagna sheets) and you layer cheeses, sauce, noodles, etc. then bake.
I agree with you YUMMY lasagna!
