nope, medicare will not cover weight loss surgery, diabetic or otherwise.

No under Medicare they are considered cosmetic surgery, unless it is a medical necessity, I mean you would have to be so big that you cannot walk or something like that unless they have changed it since I left, but I doubt it. If you have a primary insurance they may cover lap-band but most don't cover them at all. Also it depends on what state you live in in some instances, call 1-800-medicare and talk with a customer service representative. Hope this helps....

no, but I know of 3 people who went to Mexico to get it done for about $8,000.
