TALK TO A DOCTOR....C'mon use some common sense here. You obviously have a doctor because you just found out you have Type 2 Diabetes. Your doctor can tell you what you should and should not be eating. Don't screw around with this. Go find out and keep yourself healthy.

I know. I have a friend who is equally frustrated with type 2 diabetes. I just read that garbanzo beans are very good for people suffering from diabetes. You can eat them so many ways that I am really hooked. You can make them into soups, hummus, salads, put them in chili, so many things! Look online and ask your doctor for diet recommendations. I think that you may have to process as much information that you can to assess which dietary suggestions and exercise recommendations work best for you. Good luck!

I would get in to see a nutritionist to go over diet solutions. Also try to avoid drinking too much alcohol as well as too much sweets. Try keep a daily calorie log and check your blood sugar at least 3 time a day. Also write that down. Your doctor should have given you a detailed list of alll this information. Go to your local Walgreens or Rite aide pharmacy they should have some brochures for you.

OK, first off, call your Doctor's office and have them refer you to a nutritionist or a dietitian. These folks can give you a whole new lease on life. My sister is a nurse and a diabetic. She took a class that was offered at one of our area hospitals, on how to deal with diabetes. It was one of the best moves she made.

You need to visit a nutritionist so they can help you balance your protein and your carbs. You need to obviously stay away from sweets, but you also need to reduce your intake of juice....even the so called "No-sugar added ones are bad for diabetics. Potatoes, pasta (Made from white flour), white breads, rolls, hamburger/hotdog buns, all need to only be eaten in moderation, as is white rice. Whole grain breads (No bagels), brown rice are better for you, but still need to reduce your intake. Lean meats are best. Even diet colas should only be used in moderation. Although they are not loaded with sugar, they are still not good for you. Make sure that you have a package of Glucose tablets with you in your purse, car, diaper bag, etc just in case you have a low blood sugar. Exercise, especially swimming and walking are good ways to help control your blood sugars.

I have done a lot of research on diabetes because it runs in my family and I want to prevent before it has the chance to start. I came across this product that a book full of wonderful remedies recommended. http://www.alternativehealthsecrets.com/Diabetes.htm
You do need to be careful about what you eat. I have seen people pass out because they didn't care what they ate and didn't take care of themselves. You do not want to do that to your body. You do not want to be one who looses eye sight or needs to get an amputation because you didn't care. Continue to do research. Your basic diet of whole foods such as fruits, veggies, white meat, and unprocessed foods (soda, coffee, tobacco are no-nos) will surely do you a world of good.
You will do yourself well not to get overwhelmed, but take everything that you learn and decide if it is really true or not. Happy emotions can help you feel better more than you realize. Your body thrives in things that are more in their natural state.
