yes start at the begining it explaind that because adam and eve sinned they caused there off spring to be born imperfect so one attribute they would have would be selfishness, along with all the other nasty things people do

Yes. That and other things we all are. It's all a part of sin. We want our way, like the Queen in Alice in Wonderland. "My way!" Well, God wants certain one's of us to not go our way, and gives us a reason to go His way.

Selfishness is only a symptom of the problem.

Most people are not selfish, you do not need a bible to know that. We are social beings and our "normal" instincts makes us to be good and nice, not selfish.

yes it says so man is perfect. we are born with a sinful nature. when we accept Christ in our hearts he will help us with the selfishness. no one is perfect only Jesus was and still is Perfect.

they all talk about human selfishness, i suggest reading about all the different faith systems rather than limit yourself to the bible!
