I know its sooo blatantly done as well, sooo utterly obvious, you'd have to be a fool not see what's going on, the UK should stop funding this show for the FAR eastern poor countries who treat us like shite, they are laughing in our faces, we will help Serbia host the show next year but will end up with hardly any votes no matter what our song is, they aren't perfect either, especially the Serbs of all people and the Russians who aren't even part of Europe, its ridiculous, Terry Wogan only wants it to keep going otherwise he will lose his cushy job talking over it, the winning song was so boring, our tune, though cheesy was no worse than most of the other songs on there but I suppose Scootch will take the blame, why would serbia's song stand out amonst all those others (could it be simply cos they are now classed as an independent state) it wasn't anything special, Ulkrane's was much catchier and more representative of what Eurovision should be, personally i'm starting to see the nastier and darker side to this so called contest, good old Malta don't give a toss what other countries think and gave us 12 points, that was so funny, we aren't going to get in the top ten ever again let alone win it if this block voting isn't stopped, we've had it i'm afraid, time the beeb stopped wasting our licence fee on it, its not fun to watch anymore, yeah our GOVERNMENT did decide to go to war in iraq, however that dosn't represent the United Kindoms peoples views etc, voting should be based on the song and yeah they have allowed too many far eastern countries to take part, who enjoy blowing each other up by the way, so talk about hypocritical, meaning countries like Italy, Poland etc can't get in very well, I think the reason why countries such as ourselves, Ireland and France etc don't get many votes is simply down to jealousy as we are richer, sad fact but true, its not really cos of the war in Iraq, its cos we are seen as a wealthy rich country and they resent it!

It's just a silly event that the Europeans excluding UK seem to love. I can't work out though how the music is so awful. Every country must think hey I know lets embarrass ourselves yet again. The voting is just beyond me and I can't understand the logic in some of the countries voting tactics. I think the song part is a waste of time the only good thing about Eurovison is Terry Wogan.

Hahaha. Is not that,it's just that all the songs in the competition are pretty lame.I mean I've watched the show last night and didn't like any of the songs participating at the contest. They were all ridiculous. And the show and the participants....yuk....so if you would have to chose between all these crappy things and it's equal to u who will u win the contest, what would you do?Like selecting the players for the basketball team. The ones who are left last play erm...let's say...not so good and if you'd have to chose between all of them, you'd chose the one that's your friend or the one that you know best.Am I not right? If you ask me,this competition is totally senseless.None of the songs who ever won Eurovision became hits afterwards, with one or 2 exceptions,i think..

The whole thing has become a farce. Since when did Russia suddenly become Europe. The voting is pointless for the reasons already given and some of the songs, that amassed points, were terrible

I agree, just cut out all the songs and go straight to the voting.
The bookies could run odds on whos going to vote for who instead. (its a no-brainer!)
There must be a fairer way of voting than the current one.
If not, then we should divide the UK into the countries and we might get more votes that way, although Scotland would probably award Enland nil points!

it is quite amusing watching the voting and wondering why anyone bothers anymore to vote. i mean the real voting is non existent. you call in and they don't really count your vote. they just know they are going to vote for certain countries already.
i mean whoever runs it in each country makes the decisions of who to give points to and how many regardless of what the people vote for.
that's why Terry Wogan said don't waste your money voting.
he meant it.
i was thinking the UK and Ireland should just drop out of the whole thing. i wonder why we are bothering with this farce.
it seems pointless for the UK to go and spend the money on any of it.
plus why aren't these countries that the UK help free from the Soviet Union voting for us. why doesn't Israel vote for us. they wouldn't exist if it weren't for us. mind boggling. make a note of the countries that are ungrateful for the help we gave and give them. :D Cyprus there's another one.
think about this the richest man in the UK is Russian. strange world.
the music now is terrible too. worse than ever.
(except the Ark!)

The country gives out points to 12 countries
Starting with one going all the way to 12
One country gets 12 points
It not getting 12 points that make you the winner but getting the 2nd and 3rd places.
They all add up but thier is some I vote for you if you vote for me.

it is obvious that everybody knows beforehand who is going to vote for who. facts: Russia gave 12 points to Belarus and vice versa, Norway to Sweden, Georgia to Armenia and etc.
By the way, Russian politicians yesterday said that Verka Serduchka will have no longer success in Russian show business because of the phrase in her song:" I want you sing! Russia good-bye!"

Nope. It used to be even more political ten years ago before phone votes when the winners were decided by a judging pannel in each country. People are more likely to vote for countries that they identify with culturally. No-one likes us because we suck up to the school bully (Bush), perhaps we should look at our own behaviour before pointing the finger at others.
