I don't think you've offended her at all. Obviously you've been working on your cat language for a while now, so my guess is that this time you must have got the pronounciation just right and it really shocked her. Your cat initially thought, wow, she's TALKING to me, she really is! Then when she had a moment to consider I think she panicked and ran off as she's probably thinking that you expect her to be bi-lingual and start talking human to you. If you watch her closely, I bet you'll find she's holed up with an English dictionary right now. I think it's highly commendable to be able to communicate with your kitty, so I've given you a gold star. Well done!

I really doubt you offended her! I shouldn't think your cat even saw your 'meow' as a cat sound - we can't really replicate their vocal sounds, no matter how good we might think we are at it we've got different larynxes and I just don't think cats hear our imitations as their language at all. They probably just think 'whatever - weird human'. Besides if you've done this before....!
I think you're putting too many human emotions on the cat, she could've run out the room for any reason, maybe she saw a bug or something! Who knows why cats do what they do! Just carry on as normal, I don't think she'll be holding a grudge, honestly.

LoL, you sound like you got a great relationship with your kitty. I just talk English to my dog and she runs off often to but usually it's cause something else takes her attention.
It would be impossible to offend her in a way so she runs off but maybe you should look for her and give her belly rubs. I use any excuse to spend time with my gorgeous girl.

Squint at your cat (seriously) it is a sign of friendliness.
In a room of five people, four of whom love cats, the cat will go to the one who does not like them. This is because when the cat enters the room the cat lovers naturally look at it - this is a territorial challenge to the cat - so it will go to the one who doesn't look at it because this is a feline sign of acceptance.

You clearly said something very bad to kitty. I suggest you get on all fours and purr and rub yourself against her. If that don't work go get a big kipper or something in your mouth and stroll over and drop it at her feet, to show you are willing to share your tasty catch with her. Roll over with your arms and legs in the air to show submission. Hope that helps. Have a purrrrfect day with kitty.

You didn't really offend her, just surprised her!
A little treat will make her feel much better, or an extra couple of minutes of string chasing or patting.
Have fun :-)

shes obviously scared, and thinks she has done something wrong- a little treat to make friends with her is not spoiling her- its just saying, sorry.Just fuss her for a while till she gets her confidence up-- and don't go speaking cat language again- until you learn it enough to know what you are saying, lol.Dont worry, lm sure she will be Purrrfect soon.

I doubt it was the 'meow' that did it. She probably is fine - you just think that she looked offended. Cats have weird behaviour sometimes!

I think you just scared her thats all. She will come round.
She probably found it strange as you don't look like a cat, but you made the same noise as one.
Kittens are scared of the world at first. They have to get used to all kinds of strange noises.
