I was given an older program that is supposed to be run on Windows 95, 98 or NT 4.0.
My system is XP Professional and I wonder whether there is a way to adapt it to run the older program.

Use the Software compatibility function. Right click on the program file (the application/exe file), then properties, go to Compatibility tab, choose the appropriate boxes. hopefully it works!

but it doesnt guarantee that it will work, try it anyway.

You will need another computer to run older versions of Windows. You can run them using another computer, preferably one that runs Windows 3.1 or Windows NT.
