Maybe during the rebirth process, god will magically take those away?

Boy, I'm sorry. I used to live next to a pastor. Boyo. When he moved I was a little excited until I found out he sold the house to mormon homeschoolers!

Why would your neighbor say such a thing? Having piercings and tattoos doesn't mean you're a bad person. God reads the hearts. The Bible does tell us not to make permanent marks on our flesh (though, I can't seem to find the scripture at the moment), which I assume would refer to tattoos.
But, personally, I think a few piercings should be fine....I have a couple modest ones.

If you truly accept Christ as your Savior and start to grow in a relationship with him then don't be surprised if you feel convicted to get rid of your piercings. But can you get saved while you have them, of coarse you can.

I am interested from a societal stand point why do you think you need the piercings and tattoos?

In my religion, Islam, we believe that no person has the authority to judge the eternal fate of another person. Telling another person that they will go to hell is a very, very serious sin in the eyes of God.

There is a hadith that says that if someone tells another person he/she is going to hell then, for sure at least one of them is going to hell.

There is also another hadith of a man who killed 99 men, and wanted to know if salvation was possible for him. So he went on a quest to find out if he could still become a good person and return to God. He asked a religious person and then the religious person told him no, and so he killed him too. Then he asked to find the most learned religious person, and was directed to go to a scholar. Then he asked the scholar about his situation: that he killed 100 men and was wondering if repentance being accepted was possible for him. The scholar said yes, and asked "Who stands between you and repentance?" But then he advised the man to go to another land far away where he could be with righteous people, and that he shouldn't come back to where he was before.

So then the man set off on the journey to this land where he intended to be a righteous man. But while travelling to this place he died. And then there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of torment as to where this man would end up. Then another angel appeared in the form of a human being and the quarreling angels agreed to make him the judge of the matter. He said, "Measure the distance between the two lands. He will be considered belonging to the land to which he is nearer." After measuring they found him closer to the land (of piety) where he intended to go, and so the angels of mercy collected his soul.” Thus, even though this person didn't do any good deed and had a blackened record God did not reject him because he had decided to embark upon the journey to God.

Maybe your neighbor has a trip planned and she is going to surprise you and take you along. Hell is a rather small town, not much to do there. But have a good time anyway. ;-)

Dirty piercings? I don't think I want to ask what you had pierced. lol. Don't worry about your neighbor, there are kooks everywhere. Carry a Harry Potter book with you the next time you see her, she will forget all about your piercing.

The Old Testament law commanded the Israelites, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28). So, even though believers today are not under the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15), the fact that there was a command against tattoos should cause us to question. The New Testament does not say anything about whether a believer should or should not get a tattoo.

If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)

Nope.

Body art is just another form of decoration. It's what you do with your life and whether you help the people around you that matters.
I doubt your neighbor is really a Christian but you can always try to point out that if Christianity is the one true way to Heaven that our bodies are just dust and it is only the spirit that matters.

I'm not quite sure where body piercings and tattoos are mentioned in the scriptures. Perhaps you should ask him next time you see him.

Oh come on!

Tell them they are going to hell because they are supposed to love others as themselves. Where's the love?

If body piercings and tattoos really made all the difference, then God is petty. Isn't he supposed to love us unconditionally? If you ask for his love, he will give it. If you choose to explore other paths, talk to me because I can prove using the Bible that God is not the only God!
