Check with your sergeant? What's that gonna do?? He will still have to abide by AR 670-1 if he's in the Army, sergeant or no sergeant.

To answer this guy's question...intially, yes, you will have to cut your hair. But if you go into Special Forces, you might get into a team that can grow thier hair out. It drives conventional Regualr Army commanders crazy, but I see them walking around in beards and long hair from time to time.

The military, for sanitation reasons, as well as uniformity, requires that you keep your hair cut within regulations. So yes, you would be no exception to the rule. You would need to cut your hair.

Yes, so if you can't part with your hair, will you stay out of the military? You may have to cut your life short as well, but the hair is a definite.

YES. They don't allow long hair, inappropriately colored hair or any weird looking hairstyles in the Military. You will need to follow all grooming rules & regulations.

Yes, but different branches have different regulations for length. You will for sure have to cut it before any kind of basic training though.

Yes, initially in boot camp you do, however once you are out of boot camp you can grow your hair back. Different branches of service have different regulations as far as to how much hair you can grow back, but in all services you can grow it back.
