Very good question! I don't think it has anything to do with looking cheap, it's simply a hold over from the 'old days.' What a waste huh? Ya know ladies, we guys are just as freakin' nervous about asking you out as you are about being asked out. PLEASE...help the poor, unfortunate human male, end the endless suffering and mental abuse (self inflicted of course) ASK A GUY OUT!
My wife made the first move..more than 11 years ago! :)))))) (that's a really big smile)

Perhaps with mature females that might work or you happen to select a nonmonogmous male, however with young females who depend nearly exclusively on the sustaining power of the "chemistry" - any guy that lets himself be selected by a female is risking being tagged a non-cnotrolling/non-cheating "nice guy" and thus is subconsiously deemed weak, and thus an evolutionary dead-end and eventually labeled as boring
Females can make that selection, however its going to go against their innate DNA based hardwiring
A female selecting a male in an evolutionary context - could put the selectee male or herself at risk, by either choosing the wrong male or the right male at the wrong time
For millions of years the dominant tribal Alpha male(s) were given exlusive rights to make the first selections each season from the newly fertile young females in the tribe - such male(s) who by nature would be prone to violence would not take kindly to a choice being taken away from him - such choice by genetically superior males designed via natural selection to increase the odds of survival of the species

i detect it complicated. women individuals incredibly do ask what men do because of the fact their occupation exhibits the form of guy or woman they're like a cop vs a doctor or a server or a firefighter. in addition they want to appreciate a pair of guy's accomplishments to make certain if he's clever, form, worrying, solid, and could make a solid husband/dad like a guy who a woman want to have a effective, healthy relatives with. additionally women individuals ask a pair of fellows previous relationships because of the fact it exhibits what form of a guy he's: dependable vs cheater.

I ask out guys to dates, but I keep getting turned down. Usually women do not want to look desperate if they are asking guys...or its because they believe men should be doing the asking.

I believe this has something to do with truly not knowing who you are and not realizing what type of power as a woman we really have. Me personally I don't care who ask who out as long as i have a great time with a great guy. I will say that it just depend on the woman and where she is at in life..

My thought is that guys will think the woman is being forward and un-ladylike and not think of her as highly.
I've been told that this is not the case...yet deep inside...I feel that a man will think me less a proper lady if I asked him out. And if he thinks of me as being less a lady...yet, still accepts my offer of a date...that if we continue seeing each other that he will treat of lesser quality value.
