Give them ten days then call or go in and ask what the decision was.

You should call on Monday and tell her that you are calling to follow up with your interview. That will show that you are truely interested in the position! I did that once, and the guy actually thanked me for calling and we had a half hour conversation about nothing. It was a good way to get to know my new boss and it showed how serious I was about getting the job.

Make the call. Tell her that you had a problem with your answering machine and lost some messages and wanted to call just to check if she had tried calling. It does happen that people slip through the cracks and sometimes papers get lost and if this is a job you truly want and need, then it is worth taking an extra step. If they hadn't tried to call you yet, just say, that you are really eager to get started and the sooner the better.

Don't call; send her a letter thanking her for the interview, reminding her of your contact information, and asking if she needs more information. Close the letter with a statement that you think you would be a great employee or are looking froward to working there because ....

Good luck!

Call her back and say;

Hi my name is "dad", I attended the orientation session that was held on "the date". It was my understanding that someone was to get back to me concerning my schedule and have not heard from anyone from your organization. I am very interested in working with your organization and am inquiring on my start date and schedule.

Good luck, cute baby and as a once single Mom glad that your doing the best for your baby!!
