Those who belong to a religion pray to their respective gods, even if that religion is not an organized one.

Agnostics probably pray.

Atheists know it's as useless as calling for spider-man when you're mugged in new york.

I do not believe in religion and I have been in an airplane crash (cesna) I did not pray or cry out to any deity.. What makes you assume I would?

While the plane was going down I sat there thinking "I hope I die on impact rather than in the flames." I thought about my family and made sure I had my necklace, watch and retainer in place so that identifying my body would be quick for the sake of my family..

Never once did I think of a diety or cry out in prayer to a deity..

So now we all know what I did not what I would do in a plane crash situation...

Why do religious people assume athiests will suddenly find religion/ a diety when accidents happen? Can you not accept freedom of choice...

It's easy to believe in God without believing in Religion. Religion is what man teaches man about God. One can experience God and have a relationship with God without a religion, It's called spirituality!! How about some open mindedness?

Living your life isn't some kind of extemporanious test that you have to pass for some idiot on a Yahoo messageboard. Religion isn't something that you ever have to answer for.

You believe what you believe and you are free to change it on the spur of the moment for any reason at all. Or for no reason at all.

I would not pray for help. I feel it would be a waste of precious seconds. I'd look for some way to avert the crash, or survive it. If both were impossible, I'd think intently of the people I love and I'd be glad they were somewhere safe. And I'd wish I accomplished more in my life.

No, I'd try to call my kids and tell them goodbye. Your god isn't going to stop a plane from crashing. In fact, if you think about it and your god knows everythingthat's going to happen, then he caused thecrash. why would anyone pray to him ?

No, I pray to Superman to save me as it states in the Book of Superman:
Crypton 2:15:38:
"All pray to Superman thy God, and thou shalt be saved"
*thumps book of superman*

I wouldn't pray. It does no good. I would actually do something to help, seeing as I know how to fly an airplane.

This isn't a criticism against Atheism, silly. This is a criticism against the conditions one face in a crashing plane.
I would probably brace for impact, and hush up.

I'd ask God why he caused it to crash in the first place?
