I am searching for a TV series or movie that my husband saw growing up. The only thing he remembers are aliens that look like cornstalk on a beach and people in a lighthouse. He does remember that the people defeated the aliens by electricuting them. If anyone knows this show or can remmeber anymore details please let me know

I may be mistaken about the aliens. They may just be monsters. But they do resemble plants and the show may be in black and white. They defeat the creatures by setting up an electric fence around the white house to electrocute them

This sounds like an episode of Dr Who called Horror of Fang Rock. There was electroduction but not sure if that is how the aliens died. But I am pretty sure there were aliens on a beach.
Can you add any more information?
Additional: Day of the Triffids, as the other posted said, might be it too.
