I met my current boyfriend at a party a while back. Since he lived about an hour away from me, we would talk on the phone constantly. About two months ago, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said yes. He is the sweetest boy in the world and I really like him too, but now I just don't have any romantic feelings towards him. I want to break up with him, but I just can't hurt him. Seriously, what am I supposed to say? I just don't feel anything between us? Please help me!

There's pretty much no gentle way to put a guy down. Just be honest with him and thats all you can do. If you start making up excuses of why it had to happen. He'll get all crazy and start getting mad at you... or trying to find ways around the excuses...

so remember don't blame him.

be truthful its just not there.

And he'll justh ave to deal with it

Breaking up is such a hard thing to do. No matter what he is going to get somewhat hurt but there are ways that he won't get hurt too badly. Calmly explain that you no longer have romantic feeling towards him and that you feel it's time for the both of you to move on. It's sweet that you don't want to hurt him but it's inevitable. Plus if you have only been dating for two month's it shouldn't hurt him too much.

Be sure to choose your wording carefully. Do not say anything that does not need to be said. That might hurt him more than he needs to be. Be sure to leave on good terms. Try not to say anything that could be taken as mean.

Breaking up is hard and there is no clear-cut way to do it. I wish you luck.

Be sweet but upfront. Tell him it's not working out, but you'd still like to be friends. No, saying that is not considered lame.

Tell him, "You're a great guy, and I know everyone loves you- someone better than me. Of course I like you, but I'm just your friend. There's probably other friends who can like you that way, you know. I'm sorry, but you deserve better."
