It's not any extra...I've been getting my hair thinned my entire life, because it's so thick and unruly. They usually do it all over for me, and it doesn't affect what I want to do with my hair. If the stylist is skilled with the scissors, then you just get an overall lighter effect. I love it! It makes me not have sweaty head and bad hair days. Even with the thinning, my hair is nowhere near a "normal" weight. lol I would only do it if you have hair to spare. Otherwise, if you just want texture, you can get it razored/texturized.

My friend got her hair thinned...not really sure how it works-Said it hurt a lot. I think her hair looks bad thinned out. Personally, thick hair looks better. If you leave it alone, then u dont spend the money on having it thinned. Also, once u have it thinned, u have to keep going back to maintain the look.

My hair is naturally thick and it has been driving me insane for years. Hopefully some day i will be able to get my hair thinned or something because I'm sick of people asking me if i have a dog on my head!

ask your hairdresser about it.
they are there to make you look good and do the best for you.
just explain to them that it needs to be able to put in a ponytail or how every your wear your hair
i was nervous the first time i got my hair thinned but i also got some steaks of colour through it and it actually looked really good.
and i am still able to get my hair in a ponytail.

good luck

Thick hair is larger! you need to definately stick to your thick hair because of the fact those those with very skinny hair desire we had thicker hair. now and returned putting layers will skinny it out some and can be extra trouble-free so you might straighten it, yet dont over do it! women with skinny hair use extensions that harm all day and supply us problems just to have thick hair like yours. no longer something incorrect with styling it and slicing it the style you desire yet delight in and include the thickness you have!

My hair is so thick that every time I go get a hair cut, I tell the barber to thin my hair and he always does. I like my hair short and stylishly handsome... I have an image to uphold.

Only if your hair is really thick or flat. Those scissors can add texture and character to your hair. I mean nothing in life is perfect and your hair should fit in with everything else don't you think? I mean who wants flat, mediocre, lifeless, plain, dull, boring hair. Livin it up a little..........

Don't do it, unless you have thick hair. They always try to sneek in a thinning cut, those sneeky b*tches!
