find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Here's the deal. DONT WORRY ABOUT YOUR PANT SIZE!!! All you need is a good workout program and healthy eating. The people who fail the most often have unrealistic goals. Have you ever been a 5/6 as an adult? My girlfriend that I train with is 6ft. and she keeps loosing weight to get into a smaller pant, she is now a 10. She weights 139 and for 6ft that is not much. Her hips will never shrink, those are her bones, she is HOT and looks thin!!! Just get healthy and you will feel like a million dollars, dont worry about your pant size :)

Lets see. I'd say you'd need to lose about 6lb to lose an inch. There are about 4 inches between a size 5/6 and a size 10/11, so you would be looking at losing around 25lb.
HTH : )

It's often not as much about weight in this case. If you workout hard, you may not drop that many pounds but you'll drop sizes as you get in shape. Just doing a few hundred crunches a day can get you into a lower size but you may only see about a pound or two gone from the scale. Best guess as to your target weight is probably 130-140.

Absolutely not!!!!!!! Your "ideal" weight is around 140 lbs. based on your height. Of course, muscle weighs more than fat, so technically you could weigh more and still be thin if you work out with weights. By the way, the average American woman is a size 14 and weighs 164 lbs. Obviously, that is a little on the large side, but I hope it puts things in perspective for you.

Well before I had my daughter. I weighed 120 and was in a size 7. But my hips are kinda wide. I guess it just depends on your body type. I wore sz small shirts and medium bottoms. But it really all depends on your body type. I am 170 and 5'4 and sz 15/16. Everyone's different.
