I really do try and be myself around the guys but they just won't talk to me and they seem to not notice me. I get so jelous from most of my friends because they get all the attention and have already been asked to go with someone to go to the formal! I get told I am pretty but maybe that isn't enough for them?
It also really annoys me because I sit in maths class with a guy friend of mine (he seems to be the only one) and he talks to his other friend and says things like "Oh shes hot" or "I'd root her", talking about other girls while I'm sitting there,not knowing what to say..grr it really annoys me!

my dear young woman, i understand your frustration but why try to be someone you are not? if you want to find someone who is interested in you for who you are, don't change. i like women who are themselves. giggly air heads, drama queens, little miss socialite are a waste of time. you aren't in a race to find a guy so be patient, he will find you.

The number one thing that attracts a man to a woman is confidence. If your not feeling yourself no one else will. There are many beautiful girls that will never be approached by the kind of guy that they want because they are not confident in them self. Literally, hold your head high, smile, laugh. These are things that people perceive as confidence, so at least until you get to the point where you are confident in your beauty, you can wear it on your face. The second thing is you have to take care of your appearance. Your clothes do not have to be the best but they have to be pressed and clean at all times. Its also in the way that you wear your clothes, try and punctuate your outfits with accessories or even get them tailored if you have the time and money. That will take care of the outward part, which will attract the guy to you but, as for the next step you've got to make him interested in you as a person. Initially no man wants to know your problems, or how much you hate or dislike anything, you can tell him all of those things in due time. As for now show him your fun side, make jokes, laugh at his, be slightly goofy, engage others in your conversations if they are near, be friendly, smile, smile, smile. A nice smile makes a person feel welcomed and comfortable with you. In other words, no guy can resist a good smile.

The question is ... who cares what guys like, we should have enough self esteem to Love Our self where we are in life, ya know? If your walking around all day and night wondering how to make a GUY like you, then I would work on YOU, right... this comes from being Married and living Life a while,.... Take care

Guys you don't know generally won't like you for your personality because they don't even know you. But boys aren't all about looks. Most of the guys I've dated have been my really close friends, and in one case, my best friend, so they really know who I am. And I do occasionally hear guys talking about stuff like that, but I just laugh because they're usually just joking around.

I'm not suggesting that you be someone you're not, but sometimes you gotta bend the barrier a bit to get a guy's attention. Appeal to what he likes, and then let him get to know the real you. If he loses interest, then he's no good for you. A good guy is someone who'll like you for who you are. Look for him.

Uh, depends at what age.
In high school: the blonde, popular ones.
I'm at university now, and the guys here seem to go for brunette, intelligent, kind of "unique" girls. It depends on the type of guy. The more "intellectual" guys go for different girls than the athletes for example.
