Actually it is believed today that birds and crocodiles are VERY distinct groups so the discovery of a crockaduck would pretty much mess up the whole theory for the evolution of the amniota group. It is believed that birds evolved from dinossaurs (and there is overwhelming evidence backing it up). Crocodiles are a whole other story...
But none of it has nothing to do with God
