4 Character of a noble wife. The moral character of a woman affects her husband's enjoyment of life. "A wife of noble character" is a "crown," a symbol of honor and renown. A "disgraceful wife" (lit., "one who puts to shame," i.e., lowers one's standing in the community) will eat away her husband's strength and destroy his happiness.
A descriptive analyst of two differing wives.

Well, that means we have to get into a subject of what a submissive wife really is.
A lot of people think that being submissive is the meek abused wife - that 's not what it means. But instead, submission means that a wife is to allow the husband to be the head of the home and the wife is to be heart of the home. Now it can be challenging for a career woman to be the heart of the home, but what God wants is for the wife to be the helper of the husband. When you look at Proverbs 31, the wife in that model definitely was productive, loving, and spent a lot of time in a career to assist her husband and the household needs.

In light of Mother's Day, that passage ring true. A wife of noble character is going to be a wonderful mother as well as a crown for her husband. Nothing makes a husband prouder than seeing his wife become a wonderful mother.

Sure I agree with that
If a wife is someone he can be proud of then he is happy to be married and "wears their marriage as a crown."
If she is disgraceful or not such a good wife then their marriage may be dead or "decay in his bones"
But this passage doesn't mean that a disgraceful wife can't learn to be an excellent wife, and that a noble wife can't fall to become a disgraceful wife.

What does that have to do with being a mother ? I see your point if asking about a wife , but if you want to read about a mother , read proverbs 31.

I think there are better passages than that one.
Proverbs 1:8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, 9 for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.
Proverbs 23:22 Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.

Not bad. But here's another one I like even better.
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and MOTHER, and children, and brethen, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple!" Luke 14:26
Here's another good mother's day verse from when Jesus and his mother were at a wedding feast and Mary told Jesus that they had no wine.
"Woman, what have I to do with thee? My hour is not yet come." St. John 2:4
The "My hour is not yet come." seems a little non sequitor, but the insult to his mother is pretty plain.

It doesn't pertain to motherhood directly. It pertains to husband and wife. It means a good Christian women is someone for her husband to be proud of and admire and adore. A women who is not, is a disgrace and shameful to her husband.

What about this one?
1 Timothy 4:7
Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
