OMG-YES!!! I can't emphasize this enough, as long as you can afford it! Wether you are on your honeymoon or vacationing with 5 kids it is the BEST place to stay on Maui...there is a great cove-like beach in front of the hotel, and the pools are incredible. Not to mention a few great restaurants, plus many more within walking distance-as well as the shops at wailea!! Go Now!

There's a reason you always see pictures of celebrities lounging on the beach at the Grand Wailea Resort...they are the only ones who can afford to stay there!
Kudos to you if you are similarly fortified financially. If so, why not stay there? I'm sure it's fabulous.
If you are like the rest of us (i.e. regular joes), there are other resorts in the area which are also very nice and not quite so draining on the wallet. You don't need the very best accomodations to have a great time on Maui. Trust me. The island will provide the fun...all you have to do is be there!

It depends on what you are going to Maui to do. The Grand Wailea is an expensive hotel in which you could probably stay at the entire time. They have a beautiful pool, restaurant, shops, and beach. If you are one for a glamorous, relaxing, vacation in the real sense of the word, this is the place.
I wouldn't stay if...cost is an issue, you are interested in seeing the island. Wailea is at the furthest point on the south shore, everything will be a drive, at least a 30-45 minute drive. I wouldn't stay there if you want to have an authentic hawaiian experience. Have fun........Maui is a beautiful place to visit.

It is rated as one of the best hotels to stay in, on that side of the Island. It is very expensive, but they say it is well worth it. I live on the west side, and I like the beaches over here the best. The Kaanapalli Resort Area here in Maui, has excellent hotel's such as the Hyatt, Marriot, Westin, Sheridan, and many more, and they are all ocean front properties, so you should check it out, to. On this side is Kapalua, and the Ritz Carlton, and the famous Plantation Golf course, and in Wailea, they also have beautiful golf courses, and in that area, the beaches are very nice also.

It's a great hotel, expensive, a bit remote, and good for families.
Most of the things you want to do on Maui are on the other side of the island, and the beach in front isn't really good for swimming. However it is a very nice hotel.
