I would not hold my breath. Iraq has requested presence for 2 years.

I don't think they'll be home anytime soon. My son's deployment, along with all other Army personnel, was just extended by three months. So he will spend another holiday season in Iraq and will miss his daughter's birthday, again. She'll be two in December.
As for the Republican/Democrat debate....even if Bush 's term in office ended tomorrow, it will take longer than the Dems think to end this war and bring the troops home. There just is no simple solution.
Hang in there. God bless you .

My son was over there twice in the past 4 and a half years, and once he was held over beyond the schedule. That's just Army life and war. If you listen to the media about when something may happen, you're a mile behind the truth or facts to begin with, so, just be patient. Your husband will get home when it's time. I know you might be anxious, as I was about my son, twice, but, that's life, no matter how the dems and media try to mess it up and confuse us. God Bless you.

Currently, he will come home in about 15 months. That might change. I personally hope it does, because then I can leave on time, but I doubt it will.
I won't get into the "I support the war, but not the troops" debate, but US troops, if not withdrawn before President Bush leaves office, won't be withdrawn for quite some time, because the democrats know that terrorism won't stop simply because we choose not to fight it.

My son's deployment got postponed until September so all of his unit was home 12 months before going back. After another kidnapping of our soldiers, I do not see a quick return. The President has said they were hoping 9-12 months.

Passing a law that brings troops home is a bad thing cause I will garantee you, that they will not all be home on the exact date they are suspose to, a law like the Democrats want to pass.. People don't realize this would make it a felony to stay there..

You will have to wait until 2009.
So for now, the same troops get to go back again, and again, and again.
I hope your husband is ok and everything.
Best of luck to him.

Not until we vote some serious change into Washington. I'm sorry to have to say that, but its true. The vote-whore politicians dont give a damn, and we need to elect someone who does.
