I am going to be interviewing for a customer service job, and, while I have a lot of experience in the field, I would like ideas of how to sell myself. I would like EXAMPLES of qualities of a good customer service pro.

Handling the irate customer. I'd just let them rant, only saying "uh hu, yes, I see, yes, " to acknowlege I'm listening.
Now, once they're " screamed out" I start asking MY questions.
I worked for several trucking co's. Often people would jump on us for poor delivery, and in doing some detective work, I learned they asked it be shipped by us, only the supplier shipped it by another company. So, I started asking the most basic quesions.
Where was it shippe from? Omaha? We don't go there. Go back to the supplier an verify who he shipped it by. Many times, the first or second question I asked was enough to solve the problem. Next call, please.
