Also, how long should I swim to see results? I've got a pageant in six weeks--how long and how often should I swim to see results by then? Thanks.

i swim during the summer and it always whips me into shape. it works your whole body.

I'm not sure if swimming is the answer, but there are other exercises, such as Pilates, which uses the principle of stretching. Go to a gym or health club, and ask one of the personal trainers for advice.

Yes, swimming is great. It works almost all muscles of the body. You would have to do it atleast 1-2 hours a day I would assume.
