I can't believe he can't put aside his troubles with his stepmother for the sake of racing! IT's JUST RACING. I know it's his whole life, but cmon! Just hug and make up!

I can't believe his stepmother would sacrifice his rightful blood heritage. She's his STEP mother, his father died. She has no rights to dictate anything between his fathers legacy and him. Im surprised he didn't leave long ago. She should be ashamed of herself for doing this to him. Making him leave the company his father built, it means NOTHING to her. Only a money grubbing gold digger she is.

HUG AND MAKE UP ? LOL WHERE U BORN YESTER DAY?

You have GOT TO BE KIDDING!!

How can you even post a comment like HUG AND MAKE UP when it comes to NASCAR. YOU DON'T MAKE UP AND HUG IN NASCAR like they say out in the pits..IT AIN'T HAPPENIN..MAN...

its NOT JUST RACING. Thats a total IGNORANT thing to say especially if NASCAR is a Multi-million dollar business...

Do you even know what this whole mess with Dale Jr leaving is all about ? He and his Stepmother have hardly EVER been on the same page. All he asked for was 51 % of the company..which is really truly NOT MUCH...and she said NO..They're CO-OWNERS..if you're SUPPOSED TO BE CO OWNERS..NO isn't an option..

Its not an option when it comes to company advancement..
She wanted full control of DEI and he hardly ever got a say in her decisions for the company. He decided to leave not because he wasn't winning races but because he was getting the SHAFT at DEI..It's supposed to be a FAMILY COMPANY but he felt more like an outsider than FAMILY so he made his choice to leave...

Did you even catch what TERESA said about Dale leaving ?

She issued a lame statement saying the following..

"While we are very disappointed that Dale Jr. has chosen to leave the family business, we remain excited about our company's future. Our aggressive expansion and diversification plans have not changed. This company has continued to thrive since Dale left us in 2001, and it will thrive following today's announcement. Dale and I built this company to be a championship-contender, and those principles still apply."

You can read between the lines..SHE WONT MISS HIM..instead she's rather OK with shootin herself in the foot for not having him with her. LOL How dumb can anyone be ?

Dale's truly pissed and I'm with him on that 100%

That would be nice in a fantasy world. But, reality is she denied his request for ownership of DEI. I believe that was one thing that led to his decision. Another reason, she was never at any of the races to support Jr. Not even when he won the 04 Daytona 500. You see all the other team owners at the track supporting their teams. What exempts her?

When you have somebody living off your family name and running the company your dad started for his children into the ground you tend to take it personal don't forget that he and his step mom have never gotten along its a surprise to me that he stayed as long as he did. To say its just racing and then its his whole life you have to understand its not just about racing with him. He has to feel respected in the garage and not just like somebody living off his fathers name. He needs to distance himself from a company that most people believe only signed him because his dad owned the place and if you knew senior you would know that junior had to prove himself long before he went to work for his dad. Most people don't know he has a college degree and went to a military school does that sound like somebody who's dad just gave him everything.

I agree, isn't Dale Jr. fault, Teresa is the problem, she didn't start that organization, Dale Sr. did and I think she needs to sit down, and let the real Earnhardt family run the business, Dale Sr. is turning over in his grave right now. Dale Jr, will make it own his own. He's a good driver and respectful, there will be some one to take him on their team, and he might just start his own team, that will be nice. GOOOOO, DALE JR. #3.

Just Racing ? Hello , this is dale's life , the life his daddy died for. I guess he is sick of giving most of his money over to Theresa? I think he will really start racing more like Dale Sr . when he is on his own . Best of luck Dale !!!!

I do believe him. This may be the only way they can 'hug and make up.'

Doing business with family can be hard, and since the business (racing) is his whole life, imagine how hard that is when you and your family disagree on the best way to do business and achieve success.??..

u aparently don't understand it isn't that easy
1. Jr should have atleast part ownership in his father's company and he knows it
2. His step-mother is the problem
3. last but certainly not least it's been like this for along time she has always been pushing him around telling him what to do and they have never liked each other pretty much b4 the time she sent him to boarding school!

It's BIG business. It involves MILLIONS of $$$. This is not something you just "put aside".

The quicker he gets the business side in order, the quicker he gets his racing life together, which is what his fans want. I like him, but I am a Juan Montoya fan and a Hendrick Motorsports fan.

Racing is the #1 priority in Jr's life right now, he wants to win, and DEI just isn't good enough.
