You can't. Not legally anyway. The Smart Car isn't being imported into the US as of yet. Possibly late this year or in '08 sometime.

Our local Honda dealer has a used one. This guy always gets nice and exclusive used cars on his lot. I don't know where he got one from so early. He's asking $20,000, way overpriced, but you can be one of the first Americans to have one!! If you are interested I can forward the dealership's name to you.

from a smart car dealership, which maybe or not through a dodge/chrysler dealership.

i read that they were opening a bunch of independent dealers soon though.

but i hope you just plan on using it in the city, i seen to many tragic results of smart car accidents when i lived in europe, they should not be allowed on freeways in my opinion.

it could be hard cuz not many "smart cars " arer availble in the U.S cuz they do not meet our saftey standards.
