I know this is a silly question and the answers will be "go to the doctors" but I just would like to know if it is "normal" or un-serious if you get a small amount of blood on the toilet paper when you.... trying to think of a word for it = | defeacate?

What could it be? I'm now paranoid that it may be cancer or something serious so I just thought I'd ask 'cause it's freaking me out a bit. Thanks for your answers.

if it's just a spot and it's bright red, it's most likely hemmoroids. sometimes it stings a bit too. if it continues or it's more than just a spot, you know to see the doc. remember, we're not doctors here,so when in doubt, call your doc.

just a little tiny bit? thats very light red?

thats not serious, if its that, dont worry, it will be just fine in a little bit.

if its a lot of (bright red)blood, that comes out all at once, that might be a hemroid? where a blood vessle breaks thats right inside the opening...(trying to be very un-graphic) and so you get a good size amout of blood in you, and when you have to go #2 then it all comes out at once.

it comes from sitting on a really hard chair for a LONGGG time, or getting hit in just the wrong spot, on your rear or tailbone.

that is also not very serious. Cause it will clot and heal pretty quickly. i had one once.

could be something simple like constipation, piles or straining too hard, but the only person to take away your paranoia is a doctor, he gets paid to know we get points for suggesting

Rectal bleeding is never 'normal'. However common and it is often due to simple harmless things like haemorroids.

Because there are many other causes however, investigation is ALWAYS advised, so you really should go and have a check up.

Sounds like you have piles or hemorrhoids. Introduce some more fibre into your diet, brown bread and more fruit and veg, it will stop you being constipated and should cure your problem.

If it's a small ammount of blood, it may be hemmorhoids. Check if there is blood in the actual umm... defacation.
