It seems to me that all you Yahoos do is play games and try to get points. When I respond to a question and answer, I automatically look at all the other answers and take the time to judge them. That is common courtesy. Seems too often points are more important than feedback to the question. Are you too lazy to respond?

Don't you take the time to read all the other answers and give them a positive or negative vote? No time? No patience? Can't read anything but text gibberish? Don't care? Too stupid to think?

You're not getting it people! OK. I answer a question. 20 other people answer a question.. Why aren't there 20 positive or negative responses to each answer? Duh. You can dish it out, but you can't judge! That's nuts!!!

OK. If an answer is so stupid, gotta admit. Bypass. Then again, a negative would help the asker, yes, and if nothing else would make the responder feel like the idiot he/she is and deserves to be. Call it public punishment.

On a slightly different note. Some questions are a simple yes/no, calculation questions. If one person answers it correctly the first time, or somewhere in the beginning, you have to see the 20 other replies repeating the same thing. I find that very annoying. If i find that someone has already answered the question, i don't answer that question. Most of the times, i am one of the first ones to reply, it takes me a few minutes to reply, by the time i post, there are a few other answers before me.

As for feedback. If i like the response with regards to the question, if it is helpful, provides some insight, than it is a thumbs up. If it is not, than nothing. If the person is being abusive in any form, than a thumb down and normally reporting that user.

Sometimes the question is just too ridiculous and not worthy of a response. Just like this one.
Actually, I rarely see people not responding. Even if it is just yes or no, or I agree with you, it's a response. And by the way that thumbs up and down thing, everybody simply gives thumbs ups to reponses they agree with, and thumbs down to responses they don't agree with, and the quality of the reponses has nothing to do with their rating.
Why are you trying so hard to make this site a better place? It's a site to have fun, why do you gotta take it so seriously and make such a big deal out of it? If there's somebody that actually needs help and needs people to take him seriously, they will write a serious question and get serious answers. But otherwise who cares. Especially in the R&S section all people do is try to impose their religion on others. It's just a game. I'm not 100% sure, but I think there's people who come to this site only to report people, thinking they're actually doing something good.

I'll do that sometimes. There are times when I don't give a thumbs up or down because I don't feel the answer deserved either.

Additional: I do get what you are saying. It's just for me some of the answers are what I consider to be borderline, so I won't rate them either way. Then you have to remember two other things: 1) there are going to be (probably) people answering after me that I'm not aware of because I don't constantly visit each answer after answering it (so I wouldn't be rating those, anyway) and 2) there is going to be a last person answering (so who rates them?).

Well if you're the first person to answer the question how can you respond to other answers if you haven't seen them yet?

some questions may not be read clearly or typed correctly or they may just not like the question or they don't know.
