It really depends on how full your gall bladder is. My mothers was so over loaded it burst and she almost died. Hers took about 6 hours but normally it should take anywhere from 2-4 hours. I was told by my mother that it was a sore feeling not hurt though. Make sure you have a pillow handy! because when you sneeze or laugh or cough it will hurt you, so when you feel any of those things coming on put the pillow firmly against your stomach so it doesn't jolt you and hurt you as bad. not more than half an hour if everything goes good ! If it is done through scope ! Skin to skin it may take some more time if the abdominal fat is large !and if the gall bladder is adherent to the surroundings ! If it is carcinogenic than surgeon has to look for any other lesion as well so that he can remove in the same siting ! So it all depends ! Always YouRsmE

The surgery takes about 2 hours and you're out for several hours. After that, you get demerol and usually go home the next day. When you get home, you get vicodin.

It take about 45 min that's what it took for me ; but i had some big stones in me ;so maybe 35,,, I went home the next day as my insurance sucks,,,,,you'll have to take it easy for a few days but just think how much better you will feel,,,,good luck

the actual procedure usually takes about 30 minutes but preop and post op time it could take up to 3 hours.
