One reason may be that you are bathing them too much. At most a ferret should only be bathed once a month. Bathing a ferret makes them release oils, which makes them smell more. The more you wash the worse they will smell.
Which smell are you talking about? The musky smell that the ferrets have or the smell from thier defication.
Ferrets smell, there is no getting around that fact, its just something you have to get used to and live with.
For the musky smell...Don't wash them too much, launder the hammocks, blankets, etc daily. I have many hammocks to switch them.
For the defication smell... well there is nothing that will eliminate the smell totally. Look at the food they are eating. Is it high quality? First three ingredients meat? less than 3% fiber, and NO fish meal? Junky food will cause strong odor because they are not absorbing most of the food. To keep my ferret smell at a minimum I clean once daily and spot clean through the day, and the smell is still noticable as soon as anyone comes through the door.

cleaning the cage and litter out more frequent has helped with the smell in my house. I also keep the room they are in ventilated even in the winter. I learned that the cooler a house is it helps the smell to not be so strong and I added some plants to the rm they are in, these have help me, but you will never totally get rid of there natural smell. I have 6 of my own and i have learned to control how strong it is with what i said above.
I also have instant shampoo spray which you could use to replace daily washing that you are doing for the ferrets which isn't good for them.

1. well, don't wash them too much, because that makes them smell worse. you should only bathe ferrets once every month at the least.
2. are they descented?
3. are they fixed?
4. with 2 ferrets you should clean the litterbox once or twice a day.
5. this may help also:

Ferrets still have a light, musky smell even after all of that. It's just part of being a ferret owner. Even though, you can't totally stop them from smelling, all of the above sugestions REALLY help reduce the smell from my experience.
also, what sex are your ferrets? I've learned that males smell more and are more messier than females.
i hope i helped :)

Keep the bedding clean! Change their blankets every day. Keep the litter box spotless. Even neutered and descented ferrets will produce a musky odor through their skin...this is natural and part of owning ferrets.
