There is no meaning in life. People find that hard to grasp and search for answers but the bottom line is we're here because we're a living organism that happened to develop a conscious and now our mind tells us we have a greater purpose but if you look at the universe as a whole we are merely a speck and scientifically speaking our existence doesn't really matter.

we are a giant science experiment.
Those who are watching us, watch us like they are playing AGES of EMPIRES!
They have cheats too.
Once in a while (every 1000 years) They drop a 'bomb shell', literally speaking. Which disrupts civilization. ie/ pyramids egyptians, aztecs, Easter island, stone henge,
But, as a season finale, they will probably make a few appearances! Ooooohhhhh.... .can't miss that episode! All in all, we are doomed. We are meant not to survive. Look at the dinosaurs! The Mammals from the ICe AGe.

Read "The Stranger" by Albert Camus.
Read about Sisyphus (Greek Mythology)
Read about the absurd and existentialism.
(Wikipedia has a lot of info on these two subjects)

Reading all of these may help you understand the meaning of life, at least more than you know now.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

Personally I think the meaning of life is based on the concept of survival of the fittest. Life means that you have to survive in order to exist. How do we survive?? Well we nourish ourselves with food that will give us energy to work to survive. How do we get food?? We have to look for it and the life of animals that we hunt is essential to our life in order to survive. So basically the lives of others (animals) in our ecosystem is sacrificed for our lives. To sum it up the meaning of life is to maintain our existence upon our creation.
