Good question.
Probably because the Magi were High Priests of the Zoroastrian religion from Persia.
Probably because before the age of the internet, few people, let alone christians had ever read about Zoroastrianism and probably thought it was some strange ancient cult.
But now thanks to the internet, curious christians can now see to their amazement that the Book of Zoroaster in many respects is word for word large chunks of the Old Testament and pre-dates it by at least 600 to 800 years!
See:
http://one-faith-of-god.org/old_testament/sources/zoroaster/zoroaster_0010.htm
Do you really want good christians to start connecting the dots as to who wrote the Bible and why? Having Magi High Priests coming to the birth of Jesus creates more questions than it solves. Just make them ignorant shephards and let sleeping dogs lie.

The magi were Zorastrian priests, a wide-spread religion at the time of the birth of Christianity. The Zoroastrian religion has prophecies concerning a "promised one" and the wise men were looking for that one. Their appearance in the nativity account was to show a spiritual and practical connection between the two knowlege systems of Zoroaster and Christ.

It is proof that Christianity is actually a Roman copy of the Mannichean religion (in which priests were called Magi , to this day , the source of the word magic and magician) .
Obviously the influence of this older Persian religion needed to be altered , because during those times , Persia and Byzantium were sworn enemies .
So they took the enlightenment from them , wove a mystic story full of Roman pagan ideals , and presented them as christianity , a religion that to this day remains unclear whether it is an originally Hebrew or Roman or Aramaic religion .

The Magi don't bother me in the slightest. They can still be found in every Bible translation in our house!
For the record: Koine Greek, German, and several English translations!

Magi? Magi = witch/medium?? sorry i am confused with the question.
Only Vatican Catholic church judged, condemned and killed them in the Past.
Christians are not allow to judge others, not even kill at all.
The bible said that we shall not judge, only God can.

Huh? This is the first I've heard of this. Tell me more please.
I thought all or most of the bible editing had been done by Pope Gregory and King James I.

I'm sorry? I never gave that much thought to the Magi and as far as I know are relatively unimportant in the scheme of things..... Also, as far as I know, they are still in the Bible.

They weren't removed. They are also called 'wise men' (same as mage).
Why do you label somethign that did not happen as "fear?" You are not asking a question, you are trying to slander somebody. And doing a rather poor job of it, I might add.

People to whom God chose to reveal the truth... Why does that seem unusual? He even turned a donkey into a prophet, why not these people?
