One time at the dinner table, my mom told my brother that he had something on his elbow, so he lifted his elbow to see... The problem was that in his hand was a spoon... and the spoon was full of peas. Soooo... the spoonful of peas went right over his shoulder onto the floor.

Whole new meaning to... "Pea-ing" on the floor....

Then there was canning season. For about 3 or 4 Saturdays in a row, we'd pick green beans, bring them in and snap them, and put them in bottles for processing.

If it had been a long day, Dad would order pizza- A large pepperoni and a large Hawaiian. If we were lucky, he'd get a 2-liter bottle of rootbeer, too. We'd go to the pantry and get some bottled peaches, and watch a movie.

MMMMMmmmm-- pizza and home-bottled peaches!

I was 8, watching my baby brother, because my sister was just hit by a car on our way to school & Mom had to run...I was going to get his breakfast cereal (oatmeal) that my Mother had made, but it cooled off too much...it was in my favorite Kellogg's Corn Flake bowl, by the way... I put the bowl on the stove, & soon discovered that heating a glass dish on a flame isn't the wisest thing to do..and I have never done it since! LOL What a mess I made! But my brother started laughing hysterically, after being startled by the event, and the two of us were like rolling idiots laughing our buns (&diaper) off!

Thanks for the reminisce!
