On Let's Make a Deal, when the peron would choose the wrong curtain and end up with a goat, did they really get to keep the goat? It's probably a stupid question, I know. But I remember wating that show all the time on the game show network when i was little and I always wondered that because i thought it'd be cool to win a goat. of course i'd probably prefer the car, but who can't use a new pet?

I remember hearing that the person had a choice of the goat (or other zonk) or the equivalent cash value, which was $25-$50. My mom used to be connected to the entertainment business back in the 50's, and she said the law says they have to at least offer the booby prize to you or face possible litigation

Yes, they could keep the prize if they chose. One actually did keep a prize that was a crate of chickens, but most chose to 'send back' their prize to avoid taxes on it. They merely filled on 'declining prize' papers and the animal or things were returned to the seller or donated to a charity.
