Stippling Painting

Stippling means to dab. When painting you would use a very stiff bristled brush, usually round but not necessarily. Your paint usually has to be a little bit thicker also. Did the directions say to add any kind of thickening agent to the paint? You could also equate stippling with stenciling only without the stencil. Good Luck and have fun. Just remember when you are being creative, there are no mistakes.

Stippling- is when you use a style of texturing art formed by using dots very similar to pointilism!
except stippling is a technique using dots and usually are fine dots varring in sizes but not large
instead of creating a stroke, dab your brush on the canvas creating dots and with a series of dots it will execute your stippling technique

and pointilism is describing the style used in a work with dots

usually stippling is a term used when reffering to a drawing or watercolor

you probably want to use the term pointilism it sounds better when dealing with paints ( only when describing the style not technique)

An almost dry brush tapped tips down so only bits of color are transferred. Spread paint out on the pallet to a moderate thickness, clean the brush, tap the tips in the paint then on the painting. Depending on the thickness of the layer (and the thinness of the paint), it will make small leaf shaped spots. The same technique is used for sparkles of light on water, and blades of grass or flowers in a middle distance field.

It means to use quick, short jabs or strokes of the brush to make dots or flecks.
