The National Guard is a whole other thing.They are normally called to serve only in a formally declared war against another nation that threatens our national security, not a guerrilla and civil war were we occupy a country where "Major military actions" have been said to be over, by the President of the United States.

As to Proselytizing: Such would poison any good the USA might have done and that, in itself, is microscopic already.

No, you have to be an insensitive human being to go to someone else's country and tell them your culture and beliefs are better than theirs. That is mental violence and the Iraqi people are suffering enough without some missionary interfering with their lives. it would take more courage to go and help them with no strings attached. Just help and keep your religion to yourself. That would be real compassion.
