No, it is about $100 grand too much. Probably political corruption involved in him getting that amount. What do they pay the policemen? I'll bet they are underpaid.

i'm not sure with regard to the protection area by fact i've got heard the two the facets approximately protection (agree and disagree) from diverse people who stay in Delhi. although I do agree that girls persons could attempt to steer away from vacationing at previous due nights and wee hours or return and forth with a male by fact the potential for against the regulation is greater at such situations. And if we predict of almost how can a police tension be anticipated to guard even the distant corners of a city in any respect situations? we'd opt to pump in greater human beings, money etc into the police tension for retaining the city risk-free around-the-clock. yet whilst women persons merely take the precaution of vacationing previous due night with some male etc it may shop materials and additionally help shop the city risk-free.

All depends on the size of the city and the responsibility. I'd say $200,000. is a bit much. But, if the Chief spent the last 20 years being a real cop, then he probably deserves it. If he's an uptight polititian who was appointed and has never been a street officer.. then heck no!

You didn't mention how big is your city. If you live in a huge city, then the wages sound ok. If he is the Chief of Police and oversee's a huge Police Force, then he is earning every cent of his wages.

It is obscene for a Chief of Police to earn that much. I don't care what city you are in. In my opinion, no public servant should earn that amount.
I recently heard/read that the commander of the Arkansas State Police earned 98,000/year. I find that amount obscene as well, considering the average salary in that state.

Considering that Chief is usually just a political figurehead while the road officers get paid very little for doing all the work, yeah I'd say that's too high.

It sounds reasonable, but you need to take into consideration the size of the police force and the city you are in.

For all the stress and hassle a police chief gets in the big city it seems like too little.

Depends on the city/area/other things.
For my city, it would be unreasonable because it's about 8 times what an entry level officer makes.
However, if the city can afford it, meh, why not?
