I have been living with this guy for almost three years. We've broken up, taken month-long breaks, and always end up back with eachother. I thought that he wanted me back as much as I wanted him, but lately I am not so sure. He has been doing things behind my back. NOT MAYJOR THINGS, but lying about little things that make me wonder. He bought himself a cell phone yesterday, but last week he said we would get a shared plan together. I found it, and he said that he wasn't going to tell me about it because he doesn't want me calling him all the time. Today is my bithday, and although he is completely aware, he doesn't care. He even told me that I shouldn't make such a big deal out of birthday's, and they're just another day. He doesn't seem to want to devote ANY time to me, not even on my birthday! I wouldn't consider myself high-maintiance, but he just doesn't seem to want me around anymore. What do you think?

To me it's a simple case of make it or break it for you. Nothing can change the time you two have shared. Seems to me after so much time together your level of communication should be good. Get together one on one in a nice quiet place and simply tell him what you feel. But let him know that you really need to know where he is at, and why he does the things that he does. Simple communication is needed.
Hey, have you ever heard the saying, "If you love something set it free, if it returns to you then it was meant to be?" (or something like that.
Final thought for you:
YOU deserve to have someone that cares for you fully. Not some half committed, non-communicative individual. YOU deserve to be loved by a Man. You know? Seek those things in your life, they are out there. Best of luck!

I love being the only guy answering these types of questions. Leave him. Sounds to me like the guy is doing all his own thing and you are there only to meet his minor needs. Everyone needs to be treated with respect, and when you find the one that will come easy and be a natural impulse between the BOTH of you not just you giving all the time. It seems hard to leave a relationship but in the end it will be the best thing that you did. Happy Birthday and as i dont know you my gift to you is this,,,,find someone that is going to treat you right and dump the loser.

I think that your relationship has run its course. Hiding your cell number from your "girlfriend" is not something a "boyfriend" would do. What happens when you need to contact each other? Why is your birthday suddenly not important? Why won't he spend time with his "girlfriend"? Do yourself a favor, and end the relationship before he breaks your heart. You deserve much better.

I think after 3 years it's time to stop whining about how mistreated you are and get the hell away from him permanently. If you stay, you already know what lies ahead for you: more of the same, or worse now that he has the cell phone. It's time for you to grow up and find a man who treats you with respect....and affection.

well...you have been together 3 years, and you always go back to him after you split up. he knows that he's got you, and he is taking you for granted. maybe he is trying to get you to break up with him, so he doesnt look like the bad guy. if i were you, i would move out, and try some separation....you never know. you might love it. you deserve better than that
