Where has God been throughout mankind's history? If he is all powerful and able to help us, why is there, thus far, no evidence of his/her existence? If he loves us how could he ever condemn anyone to an eternity of suffering (hell)? Why would he not intervene in the horrific things that humans do on this Earth? Every possible abuse imaginable has been done by humans and yet this loving and ever forgiving god has not shown up yet? If your child was suffering, or about to injure itself, would you not intervene? Free choice is what will be cited as a reason for this God not intervening. Let me ask this then: if your child was going to put his or her hand in the fire, would you stand back and say: free choice. You put your hand in the fire then you'll pay for it?? No! Any self respecting parent would stop the child. And we are mere humans! Where is this god? I really would like to know. Until he at least helps us out a little, I don't believe anything is out there, except the ether!

What do you seek?
You are intelligent enough to recognize that what the world calls, "Free Choice" is no choice at all.
"God" is not a being separate from us, objectified, aloof, having created us at arm's length, as a potter might mold a vase.
God did not create "...the horrific things...", therefore, they never happened. Your reasoning is correct, but you are not going far enough: there is God, and everything (us) that God created. Nothing unreal exists.
If you think less, and "just be" more, you will more readily find what you seek.

Well u asked a mighty lot of Q's here.
Creation gives proof of His existence.
His proof, isn't as complicated as 1 / some(ppl) may think.
(of course, creation is complex. i.e. The Great Barrier Reef)
Your Q shows the condition of your heart,
the empathy n love u have for ur fellowman.
He waits, with patience that we Cannot fathom.
He waits, so that more and more people have the opportunity to 'turn around.' (i.e. me; I only came to Know...turn my attention to Him, for a 'lil more then 10 years, now. I'm 40)
Let's say some1 here gives u 411, for research or told u, and showed you the proof; Would u believe it? Accept it as truth? You said " I really would like to know".
When Jesus walked the earth, during his ministry some didn't believe. Some even said he had a demon. Some went to far as to say Satan was the 1 whom he rec'ved power from.(this acknowledges that the ppl recognized "something of authority" about him; extraordinary.)
You'd have to have the right heart condition...
acceptance of God's Word, as just that.
And you do "really Want to know" don't u?
The entire concept of a place of eternal torment Never came up into His heart. The word "hell" is found in many bible translations. In the same verses other translations read "grave," "the world of the dead," and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that r sometimes rendered "hell"; that is, they express them w/ the letters of our alphabet but leave the words untranslated. What are those words? The Hebrew she'ohl' and its Greek equivalent hai'des, which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the Greek ge'en-na, which is used as a symbol of eternel destruction. However, both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished (and some believe that this is with torment).
No doubt this is the "hell" u were referring to. All this being said; u'd also, have to believe that the soul survives the death of the body. Again, not a biblical teaching.
Ur analogy the child/ fire sometimes u have to let the child learn by the doing. Not to say u should let him/her go play in the street to see if he actually does get hit n killed. Let's stay w/in reason o.k.
In the Scriptures it tells EXACTLY why (and the wherefores) that God has not yet, intervened on mankind's behalf.
(what ur asking)
And that He 'is' and 'will' and 'when'.
NOT a date n time; when. But, signs to Look! for,
and then YOU will know.
As when u see the figs ripe on the tree, then u know
its season has come.
Does this sound reasonable to you?

1. Proof for his existence is that nothing creates nothing, so something needs to create something, he is the answer to the never ending cause and effect cycle, He is the Uncaused.
2. God never forces someone into Hell. He actually gives people what they want, they didn't want God on earth so he lets them have there wish when they die.
3. Pain and suffering has caused people to cry out to God, like you're doing right now, so he lets it happen.
4. God has shown up, Jesus, and he will show up again. He also gave us knowledge of who he is, The Bible, so we know how to live.
5. So a parent would never let there child do something wrong to learn that there is pain? Have you ever seen kids that are babied there whole lifes? You also think it's once choice or act. People live for 60-72 years, day in and day out and reject God, not just one act when they were 5.
6. Where is He? He's in His Word and in (real)Christians. You ask why he doesn't help us out and then you say that human have done the most imaginable things, exactly. Do you want to be free, or be a robot. Freedom is going to cost.

God is love, the reason bad things happen is
1. Sometimes he doesn't intervene because we have free choice. In your little situation, the kid probably wouldn't put their hand in the fire because they have nerves and can sense that its really, really hot and they'd stop before they got burned. And,
2. Satan also has authority on this earth and bad things happen because he sets things up (the devil doesn't make us do anything, he just tempts us and we have the choice whether or not to do it) and a lot of bad things are done by people because we live in sin and if God stopped us from doing every bad thing, well then there would be no purpose to life, and no purpose for man kind. That's why he gives people the choice to choose him, life, or choose hell, he doesn't put people in hell, each person chooses whether they're going there or not.

Why is it that people forget about free will .... Yes God could in a twinkling of an eye change things but that wasn't his plan... You will find him in your circumstances your life and surroundings if it isn't blinded by delusional thinking! He will only be as real as you allow him to be and if you refuse his call then forget it .. Faith is a gift and if you ask for it and don't let anyone dilute it in the process then faith can grow and your understanding or your spiritual eyesight will take you on a journey like you have never experienced before..It doesn't come without a cost though...
I don't agree with the path that the church has taken for the most part ..I think it has distorted truth and turned away many .
The most important part of faith is the development of it in fellowship and relationship with Him inside of yourself.. We all are a part of him and were created in his image..
It is hard to just think you can believe in something you can't see but when you take the time and ask for it without thinking something grandiose is going to happen then you have the chance to inherit something great!
Most people know that we are spiritual and there's more then the naked eye can see !

"A generation that seeks for proof will not find it."
- Maybe you should read why. Read the Bible, New Testament first and then you will know the answer to this question. No one can answer it for you, only you can figure it out yourself. This is your life and you are the one that is directing the path. If you chose not to believe, then don't. Just know that there is a God that believes in you and that has been with you from the beginning whether you have proof to show it or not.
May God Bless you and be with you, and may you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear.

God has always been there. We just aren't always there for him. He has to let us go through things, other wise we will never become stronger. Think about it!!
If God intervined with every little problem, would we ever really grow. If we never have to do anything for our self would we ever develop assertiveness.
If all you think about is all the bad things that happen you will never see all the many blessings he has poured out upon you. But go ahead, become blind to his love. Push your self away from him. But someday you will have a really bad day and you will know exactly where to find him. On your knees in prayer.

You’re not that bright are you? It’s pretty obvious if you have done any research… First of all, God has intervened on many occasions. Second, when Adam and Eve sinned God cursed them and their descendants. Just because God doesn’t intervene EVERYTIME something bad happens doesn’t mean He doesn’t care. But if he intervened every time something wrong happened life would be too easy… the idea was to punish us. And as for the bit about hell, I don't believe in hell. I personally believe hell is meant as the grave. And- you incompetent imbecile- God is not female! He has made that quite clear! "God created humankind in HIS own image, in the image of God He created them, male and female he created them." Also, God doesn't TALK straight back to you... you obviously weren't very intellegent back then either...

In the garden of Eden before Adam and Eve and of all the angels in heaven, Satan challenged Jehovah God's sovereignty, not his power, but his right to rule his intelligent creatures. Satan said God was withholding good from his creation, man and woman, and they would be better off ruling themselves. Adam and Eve joined in this rebellion by eating of the tree of knowledge of good and bad and chose independence from God. So, to settle the issue, God has allowed man to rule himself these some 6 thousand plus years without God's help, allowing man to try every form of government. What you see are the results of self rule by humans. God could not interfere with our affairs and prevent harm to his children or he would be helping to prove Satan's challenge. Jehovah is not going to send anyone to an eternal fiery punishment in a so-called Hell. Hell is the common grave of mankind. Man's punishment is eternal non-existence. The wages sin pays is death, so those who die have paid for their sins. So that God's word says: Do not marvel at this, all those in their memorial tombs will come out, those who did good to a resurrection of life, those who did bad, to a resurrection of judgment, not for past sins since they were pay for with their death, but judgment on what they do during Christ's thousand year reign. Soon, God will break up all the works of Satan through his Son, Christ Jesus.

"...all powerful and able to help us". In other words owes us, right? He should intervene because He is supposed to. Yeah. He should make us love each other, make pain disappear, and give us all golden tickets to Heaven.
Show me how you deserve this. Tell me how innocent you are and then you without sin can throw the first stone at God.
