I know that sounded like a weird question, but hear me out. I answered another question and got several thumbs down signs. Someone had asked why their dog might be foaming at the mouth and I stated that the dog may have gotten ahold of a toad. Someone please clarify this for me, I've seen it happen, but apparently they don't beleive me.

Some toad secretions are toxic and can cause a dog to foam at the mouth. I hope this helps educate everyone.

I have this dog who is always caring toads in her mouth..She never foam but she never bite down on one.. just carried it and when she was done she spit it out.
I don't have a clue why she does this, If I can catch she I will stop her, but it is hard catching a dog that wants to grab a toad lol I guess they can foam because toads have something they put off so I would say it is every easy to happen. And like golden said don't worry about the thumbs down I think I am the queen of thumbs down lol

I answered that question too. I didnt give you a thumbs down because my dogs have eaten toads and foamed at the mouth. I thought it was a good answer. Maybe its because they have never seen this happen so they may have thought you were just joking around.
Dont take it personally, we all get thumbs down sometimes.

watching this sort of toad that's it must be superb or demise. one in each and every of my canine as quickly as ate a toad and acted superb for roughly an hour yet we then stumbled on him mendacity on his side, subconscious in a puddle of drool. We took him to the vet at as quickly as and the vet gave him something and in a pair of days he grow to be superb. I recommend gazing him heavily for here couple of hours, and taking him to the vet if something suspicious happens. the froth got here interior the path of the toad's pores and skin and is something that toads and newts provide off as protection. that's foul tasting so a great number of time the primed atone will drop it.

You are right.
It used to be more of a common occurrence, but the toad population is declining due to pesticides so people don't see it as often.
