Oh don't believe that silly nonsense, everybody knows that footballs are no longer made of pig's skin.

The Old Testament "MATTERS" VERY MUCH. Anyone who says that its been replaced, or that its just for "jews" is Biblically illiterate as a fencepost.
That said, the health laws are for the protection of the flesh body. They are good advice. The reason you don't want to touch a dead pig is because a pig is a scavenger.
They are made to clean up the filth of the earth. They have no sweat glands, which means that every particle of bacteria that touches them stays within their skin or on it.
It can make you terribly sick.
So mock if you like, but go ahead and mess with a dead pig, and then see how you feel in a few days when that fever starts to kick in.

Pigs are and have always been filthy, wallowing beasts. They have always lived in mud filled with their own droppings, and they have always been prone to sunburn without mud to cover themselves in. Now, if any other animal literally swam in a solution of feces, mud, and lord knows what else for months they'd catch some funky skin disease and die. The reason why they said that and Muslims don't eat pork is because pigs are filthy... period. With the low levels of science they had back then, I wouldn't be surprised to find that it was a mainstream belief that touching a dead, rotten, filthier than a live one pig would cause leprosy or some other disfiguring disease mentioned in the Bible. Therefore, it was merely a prudent preemptive precaution to maintain their own health not to touch dead pigs. Now, as for your football, the modern ones look synthetic. The old ones were made out of pigskin, though. Didn't they treat those somehow to make them usable?? I'm sure they somehow sanitized it to some degree or another....

That was a lesson taught in the old testament, In the new testament many things were fulfilled that canceled some of the old principles.
ex. Jesus sacrifice stopped animal sacrifice.
The pig skin and eating uncleaness ended when the vision of the animals happened. in the new testament.

That's before they had the NFL, and the old "Duke" pigskin football! I think to eat sausage, bacon, pork ribs, ham, or whatever else made out of a pig's carcass is heavenly. Could I have some eggs over easy with that, thanks.
