In addition to the other advice remember to bring any rescue inhalers he is prescribed with him everywhere he is. I have seen too many kids not having access to them because they get misplaced. I hope you and he adjust well.

I have come across an air purfier recently that has helped my girlfriend breath better. She doesn't have asthma, but has burnt her lungs and for the last year has had asthma symptoms. rapid breathing
loud wheezing
very frequent coughing - unable to catch breath in between
unable to speak more than 1-2 words at a time
nasal flaring - nostrils move in and out
retractions - muscles between ribs move in during breathing
babies - don't eat or cry
lips or nails turn blue
feel tired or pass out

a hard time breathing, as in the chest goes way in during the inhale
