What''s wrong with you just saying,, "Will you call me?" I could see some hesitation if the person you are talking about is "NOT' your boyfriend - but if this is your boyfriend, you should have established some kind of phone-calling' set up by now. Just ask him to call.

I know guys don't like when we think they can read our minds. It's also better not to try to manipulate the other person so I would just say "call me." It doesn't have to sound desparate, you can say it in a very casual way.

If you are in a relationship, all you have to do is ask him nicely if he could call you sometimes. Or better yet, call him first. That's what people in a relationship do.

from a mans point of view; you shouldn't hafto figure out how to make him call, if he really cared he would call. suttle little hints usually work ie; haven' talked to you lately
