My daughter is 14 months and has had diarrhea for 2 days now. She isnt eating anything and wont drink anything either. I have tried to get her to drink anyway possible she just wont do it.. The diarrhea has now turned a mix between green and yellow.. I am afraid that something more then just a viral infection is going on, and afraid that she will become dehydrated.. What can I do to help her.. I am a 1st time mom, and this is the 1st time she has ever gotten sick.. Please help..

I have tried pedialite, sprite, tea, and gatorade. She wont drink any of it.. I was giving her apple juice, and then found out that it would only make the diarrhea worse.. We buy her the pampers cruisers that come 46 to a package and she has gone through half of them yesterday and today.. I dont know what else to do..

Yes everyone I have taken her to the doctor yesterday when she was vomiting. She had a bit of diarrhea on Wen. and he said that there was nothing he could do to treat it. I called him back today to let him know it had gotten worse and once again he said there was nothing he could do unless she was dehydrated..

First of all, the diarrhea can last for as long as 7-10 days per my daughter's ped. If she happens to have Rotavirus, it can last for up to 2 weeks. However, if she is not drinking anything, that may warrant a trip to the ER. Does she have tears and is she urinating? I know that can be hard to tell if she is constantly having dirty diapers. If you can just get a little liquid into her at a time, that will help. If she does not have any tears and appears lethargic, take her to the ER.

When my daughter was a baby she got the rotovirus, it is highly contagious and causes severe diarrhea, the kind that will squirt out the side of a diaper. Many kids are hospitalized for this due to dehydration. If you are concerned that she is getting dehydrated i would take her to the hospital where they could put her on an I.V. and rehydrate her. I think i got my daughter through it by diluting her bottle with water. Slowly it slowed down. My mother in law also says that if you pinch a kids wrist and the skin doesn't snap back then they are dehydrated.

If it is very severe and has a strange smell to it, and is extremely watery, it could be Rotavirus. My son had it twice. Keep trying to find something she will drink and try the BRAT diet - bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast (plain wheat bread). If she continues to refuse any liquids, take her to the ER or Urgent Care for IV fluids before she gets worse. I know it is scary but she should be fine; just do your best to keep her hydrated in whatever way is possible.

If she has not been to the Dr already, take her. I am not sure if you have yet or not. It may be her teething or something as serious as RSV. If she is not seriously dehydrated you could try feeding her fruit that contains plenty of fluids. Sometimes watermelon will tempt them to eat. Or try some of the electrolyte popsicles they have out now. If she has a sore throat or is teething the cold will make her want the cold stuff. Good luck!

if her mouth is dry, or she does not produce tears when she crys, she is super dehydrated and should go to the emergency room.....other than that, my babes have had diarrhea in the past for like 5 days straight without complication.....try giving her an electrolite replacer with an eye dropper in the corner of her mouth....do this every half hour, and this should keep her hydrated....call your doc, though....that is always important

Do whatever you have to, to get her fluids, use a dropper to put water in her mouth if she won't drink. Give her pediacare and some baby meds, if she is not better in an hour or two take her back to the doctor.

Take her to her pediatrician, Mom . . . don't wait for answers here!! We don't know the whole scope of the problem . . . what if it's something serious? Don't use her as a guinea pig with all the different suggestions . . . go to (or at least make a call) to the pediatrician NOW!

simply take her to the emergency room. if your worried about the bill, don't be. even if it goes to collections, make very small payments (like 5$) and it will disappear from your bill. ER bills work very well with your credit since its considered a life or death situation. some hospitals even have programs that help pay for or even pay all of your bill.

First, try popcicles. Then if she doesn't want to hold it ,hold it for her and give her licks every few seconds. You can also try crushed ice cubes and putting pieces in her mouth.make slushies out of Kool-aid or anything.Well hope this helps.God bless.
