I really hop around? I've only been attending church for 2 years!

I've just been attending Baptist Church because I have family that goes there and when I started going to church, I went with them. I never really felt at home there. I have been studying the different denominations, and I feel drawn to Catholicism.

why anyone would want to succumb to the rhetoric of religion that is based on so many 'man's rules' is beyond me. find a non-denominational church, try out a LOT of different ones... before becoming catholic.... to be sure that you want that in your life

Welcome home!

You should contact your local Catholic church and speak to the pastor about RCIA (Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults) classes. They take six months to a year to complete, depending on your parish and how they have the classes organized.

The Church pretty much insists that anybody joining should really know what it is they are joining, so the classes are mandatory. People shouldn't just blindly follow. If you ask me, this is a Good Thing.

If, after you've completed the RCIA program, you feel that the Catholic church is the right place for you, you will be given the sacraments. If you have already been baptized, you will not be re-baptized, as we acknowledge only one baptism, and so long as it is in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit we consider it a true and valid baptism. The other sacraments that you will receive at the end of RCIA are your First Holy Communion and your Confirmation. If you've already been baptized, you will attend Confession before you're given Holy Communion.

Another person gave you a link to amm.org's Catholic Home Study Service. That's an EXCELLENT resource. I recommend starting with their book "We Believe...", which explains the Nicene Creed in detail. The Nicene Creed is a brief synopsis of everything that we believe as Catholics.

God bless you.

I converted to Catholicism about five years ago after being a Protestant minister for 25 years and a Protestant for 50 years. The Catholic church is the only place where you can find the fullness of faith and practice. Be aware tht there are those who believe lies about the Catholic Church such as they have Pagan influences and that Catholics worship idols but these are all lies spread by the great deceiver who uses others to spread hatred for Christ's Church.

Remember that the Bible states that Christ's Church is the "bulwark and ground of the truth" and that the "gates of hell will not prevail against the Church". Christ further promised tht He would be with His Church until the end of the age. No other church or ecclesiastical group has these promises except the Catholic Church. God bless you and welcome home to Christ's Church.

In Christ
Fr. Joseph

Talk to a priest at the Catholic Church you wish to attend. He will help you enter the Church's RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program. Get into an RCIA program and you're in good shape.

Welcome to the Catholic Church.

You really hop around, don't you? Just go to your local Catholic church and talk to a priest. He will sign you for RCIA classes where you will learn about Catholicism and take the sacraments.

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.

You can go and ask any questions you want.

This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.

There is no obligation to become a Catholic.

With love and prayers in Christ.

Go to a Catholic church and talk to a priest. They're usually around. Then, he can answer questions you might have and help you decide if that is what you really want.

Ask the Pastor of the Baptist Church that you have been attending to explain the differences between what Catholic's believe and what Baptist believe. And then check out those answers, prayerfully in your Bible. If you seek the truth, God will help you find it!

What is so special about becoming a Catholic? I would wish you all the luck in the world if that is your goal but everyone, everyone, should remember Jehovah/Jesus Christ/ the Holy Spirit none of these were of any specific denomination, AMEN! If your real hope & desire is to become a fine christian put your heart and very soul into studying the bible and praying constantly to our lord for knowledge and peace for remember this: It is said no man may go to the father but through the son! This is very important because some people will have you TRYING to confess to another man here on earth and it will do no good- or praying to dead people/ they are dead and could do you not a bit of good. Think carefully for these people can not " CAN NOT" get into heaven!!! It is said NOT ALL THOSE THAT CALL UPON MY NAME SHALL ENTER INTO HEAVEN!! Something to remember and think on. AMEN!!!!!!!
