my derm prescribed me minocycline and we picked its up yesterday and i just took the first pill. im rly scared bc i have acid reflux and i drink milk every night (i heard u csn become lactose intolerant from taking it) and i worry about the side effects. my other option was birth control pills (even though im not sexually active) and after readin about the side effects i dunno what to choose. im stuck between a rock and a hard place here people. please let me know what u think will help my bacne and some face acne more??? id prefer taking birth control for a more regular period (ive only had it for 1 year and 4 months and im 15) but we already picked up the prescription and i took one pill already. plz help!

has anyone tried birth control and does it work and is there any way to return the meds if i wanna do BC pills instead!!!

Don't take it with dairy products - your pharmacist should have told you or put a sticker on the bottle.

Hmmm minocycline for acne? From personal experience it's not very effective.

I have the same issue with Lortabs. Try drinking something really cold after you take the pill. If that doesn't help, talk to your doctor. I cannot swallow name brand Lortabs. The pills are just too big. I started to get the generic and they are so much smaller. If Minocycline comes in generic and is easier to swallow, I recomend trying.

Minocycline is an antibiotic of the tetracycline family. One should Not take it with milk. You should wait at least two hours between taking it and drinking milk. Milk keeps the medication from working.

My dermatologist has a non prescription medication that you take orally for acne.

While I have never used it myself, I have taken other medication that he has developed and it worked marvelously and I highly recommend him. He helped me so much where other dermatologists didn't
