First thing: You are not stupid, you have not been stupid. You just made a mistake. Everybody makes them, including the people who raise dogs for a living. Even veterinarians!

It doesn't sound to me as if there's something wrong with your dog, but if you are concerned, you should definitely take her to see a vet, as soon as you are able. If there is something wrong, the vet will be able to tell you, and if not, you have nothing to lose, except maybe the money for the vet bills.

if the bone had done any harm you would have known within the first 48 hours the bone has been digested and gone by now the first signs would have been loss of apatite and your dog would have been looking quite ill puppies will eat all sorts of things including things like wood and of coarse bones just make sure in the future not to give your dog small bones stick to beef bones etc even small dogs like to chew on a bone and a beef bone is to hard for your dog to choke on but raw hide chews are your best bet so stop worrying and take a lesson from what you did wrong and then just enjoy owning your puppy all owners at some point if they are honest will tell you that at some point they have made mistakes with their dogs like feeding them chocolate etc as we all know now is bad for dogs but when i was a kid my dog at the time would share my Easter eggs with me of coarse now i wouldn't dream of giving my dogs chocolate but back then i didn't know any different i might add that dog lived until he was 17yrs old so i am not completely convinced that chocolate did anything at all

First off, if the chicken bones were not cooked, then your dog was in very little danger. If they were cooked, the reason chicken bones are bad is because the can splinter and cause your dog to choke or tear up its throat. So, if by now this hasn't happend, you are definitely in the clear. Please look up what you should and should not feed your dog and why. My boss had a dog to whom he fed pizza crusts and whatever else he ate that night. The dog died at 7 because of his diet.

You shouldn't give your dog any cooked chicken bones if it was raw it's should be okay, but I wouldn't give her that either and you said it's been a month and you changed your dry food it could be that too. If you're not happy with her droppings please call your vet to have it checked out and they may want a sample. Good luck;^)

Since it has been a month the dark color is probably from the food. Take a stool sample to the vet and have them check for blood in the stool.

If she had injured herself on the bone, you'd know it. A chicken bone cuts up her insides, and you'd have seen her bleeding anally, and possibly puking blood. If she had tore her abdominal lining, she'd already be dead. If you are truly concerned, take her to a vet.

hey you never know it could be darker from eating dry dog food. sometimes chicken bones don't effect dogs, but i'd wait and if you see anything different in her behavior i'd get her checked out immediately.

Never, never give a dog bones from a bird. rawhide can also be very dangerous for dogs. stick with treats like milk bones or snausages.
