From Hamster to You: The hamster can bite you whether you hurt it, aggravated it, scared it or didn't do anything to you. Hamsters are very curious animals and to find out what something is (like your finger) they try to bite it. You probably won't get any diseases from the hamster if he/she bites you, but it might be painful.

To the Hamster: Hamsters can get colds (just like us) and die from them. You have to be careful. Hamsters can also get wet tail disease, which is quite common if the hamster is not properly taken care of. Hamsters usually die from wet tail disease.

Make sure you buy a happy and healthy hamster. I suggest Petsmart or Petco.

No hamsters are dangerous. If they do bite you just wash your hands with soap. If you are bleeding use polysporne or soap and wash the small wound!

if you got it from a pet store it should be fine but if you did not get it from a pet store then you might want to get it checked for diseases

They used to be carnivorous and when the urge hits, then God help you. They go for the eyes first.

Don`t share your toothbrush with it and make sure you boil it for at least 3 minutes before you eat it.
