There are some christians who do care about the environment. Quite a few of these christians have a Boy Scout background, even a few of them getting the top rank of Eagle Scout. That kind of background obviously cares about the proper care of nature and life itself.
Some of these christians also have the belief that since man has dominion over the earth, man should also therefore be somehow watchful for what goes on throughout this creation of God. If a person claims to be a christian, then their actions should reflect some sort of caring nature. Some of those actions therefore could be an interest of taking care of the earth properly, to show reverence to its creator, God.
What's interesting about this question and several other questions is that there are a lot of presumed qualities that christians in general have. The reality is that not all christians have the same cookie cutter set of behaviors, even though they in general have a common motivational source, which is Jesus Christ. What one person's perception of what is right for them may not work for another person. That would be so if they have differing sets of talents that would be useful to God. Not everyone is a talented public speaker. Not everyone can heal people's broken hearts.
The apostle Paul has said that the whole body is not all the eye, for how could it hear and the whole body is not all the ear, for how could it speak. So please expect christians to have a common core of beliefs, and see how each individual christian is utilizing his or her specific talents which are unique to that individual, whether it be a talent for taking care of wildlife or taking care of a newly baptized member of the church or even creating new music for church hymns.
Hopefully this clarifies things about christians and the environment.
Sincerely,
Alvin R.

Amen to the Bible being the best selling book and really are you that umm what is the word? (think of a nice-ish word for stupid) I cant think of a the right word sorry but are you really that small minded to think that they would put the best selling book only online? Oh I could open my mouth so much more, but I'm biting my tongue. Have a good evening! Cinn =) "too progressive for them" is quite a generalization and rather insulting. Just because you get your porn online doesnt mean the Bible is only wanted online. What's wrong dude you cant afford a roll of toilet paper? Or maybe I should say your parents cant afford toilet paper.. by the way you talk it seems you are a young person. JSM is Cool lmaooo are those your initials? ha! Since you brought up your @ss.. is it that it's big and needs a lot of toilet paper? If so now I understand some of your concern. haha! and again you generalize.. what is my kind? and I'm sure many people have those initials or does your kind not understand that?? and no you arent my Daddy so dont tell me what I need to do. Thanks

Since know one really knows when the world will end, we need to presume it will continue for another ten thousand years. Every time someone thinks they've got a date set, it goes by and they look ignorant and unbiblical. Jesus told us "Occupy till I come" (Luke 19:13).
He gave us this earth, and expects us to be good stewards of it. We should be the best environmentalists going. Unfortunately, not all are, just as there are ignorant people everywhere.
One thing though, as a Christian, I don't buy a lot of the recent tripe put out by pop-environmentalists that think if you don't do things their way, you aren't concerned. Likewise, I would not be in favor of saving a rat habitat over a human family's right to live and do what they want with their own property.

why is it that one person ALWAYS seems to think they can speak for ALL others? First off there is NO distinction between Christians and non-christians when it comes to issues like the environment---there is not ONE section that cares more then the other----and if FIVE people who are christian say they don't care, that doesn't mean that ALL don't care..... same as NON-Christians. why are you people always sticking RELIGION in every single situation on earth? Not EVERYTHING revolved around what a person's religion is OR ISN'T. The environment is EVERYONE's problem and should be EVERYONE's concern not just one group or another... and who said christians believed the world was ending soon? Where the hell do you get your information from??? CARTOONS???

Im a Christian and i care about the environment almost as much as i care about other ppl.
First of all cos i love nature. I feels much closer to God and its just so calming when im in the country side or playing with my dog, (or when im around other animals)
Second: not ALL christians believe that the world will end soon. We dont know when it will end.
All christians should care about the environment.
Its like saying "oh u christians, y do u still care for other ppl, y do u still care that other ppl are being killed every day or ar starving in poor countries, cos the world is ending anyway. so y not just let it all get out of hand?"
Wisdom, my friend is the answer to many questions. And wisdom can only be found with God.

I'm a Christian and I love the environment.
I also love wildlife, birds all the beautiful gifts God gave us to enjoy while we are here.
I love trees some folks call me a tree huger. I am not but they are very peaceful to me and I'll keep what I have.
I would never put these things before God. But I thank God for them.
I believe global warming will be part of the wrath of God.
Even though I'd like to stop it we can't because God will do what he wants. Stopping sin will stop global warming.

The only way that Christians would care about the environment is if people were using the hole in the ozone layer to get an abortion.
Just look at the results of the last two Presidential elections.

I don't think you can generalize that Christians think the world is ending soon. Sure, Christians care about the environment. Many Christians see nature as a way to encourage their faith because it is God's creation. Therefore, Christians do care about the environment.

Armagedon isnt the end of the world.. it's just the end of religion especially christianity.... they have messed up the world so long they take it for granted.... they are drama queens to the end... each of them.... so when you hear a christian panic it's because mother nature kicked their god's butt really really bad.... now the earth has been given to mother nature to manage and make laws.... one of her first laws is humans seeking to do no harm require no laws.... if you want to know the type of person that works for mother nature look at the example John Lennon left... these are the types of people who know her.

Of course I do care about environment. I find ways to cut back on things and reuse stuff. I used to be in Earth Club at high school in the 90's.
