I see alot of so called preachers giving a 'motivational speech' on T.V then blanketing it with scriptures.. Dosent say in the Bible somewhere not to trust man, but to trust god? Pyschology is mad made, I look at it as almost a religion because it denys Jesus is the only way to have victory.

I dont deny Joel Olsteen loves god..But how could a so called saved man preach such garbage? I like to hear about Jesus and how he died for our sins

religion is man made......psychology is human observation.... although not perfect at least it points in the direction of solutions... religion points in the direction of blindness and corruption.

That is when study the Bible comes in and not relying on preachers and ministers. Sure Joel Olsteen has a great smile and talks a lot about mans conditions and tells you what the word of God says about it ,but so do others if you know the word for yourself that is just confirmation that one understands what the word is telling you. Not to rely on the words just spoken by man regarding the things of God. It is the experiences of the word that comes to life that gives us the joy and the praise to God.Psalms 46

Ever since the 1960's and 1970's there has been a greater interest in human pyschology and mental health, so I guess a lot of preachers are trying to incorporate it into their sermons, but giving a Christian twist.

I agree with you, though, that it can come off as counterfeit and oftentimes the preacher is missing a chance to deliver the powerful messages of Jesus Himself, who was THE greatest authority on the human mind and heart.

Joel Osteen is a half Gospel preacher - he never speaks of sin or anything negative - yeah he does sound like a motivational speaker with very few references to the Bible and God

Isn't fundamentalism great!

Let's ignore all science, and live on the Bible alone. Forget about vaccinations ...just preach Jesus. Forget about finding clean alternatives to fuels that we use ... just read the Bible. We don't need anything else. Heck ... Who needs cars. If Jesus wanted us there right now, we'd be there already. If we were meant to understand the world and how to grow food, that would be in the Bible. Why sudy anything? If God wanted us to know it, we know where he would have put it, right?

Grow up.

Yeah, psychology is guy-made (like numerous of the sciences) yet then so is faith. Why might we blindly have faith every physique's preaching of something? The Bereans have been counseled for evaluating Paul's teachings to the Bible - it rather is a sensible answer. If the guy proves he's talking actuality, then hear. If not, ignore approximately him.

The SCIENCE of psychology many be man-made, but psychology itself is inherent to us, and is part of what makes us human. Some people use it better than others, and some people use it for good or ill, but we all deal with the psychology of our fellow human beings every day of the world.
