hello
this might sound daft but do pilots (of passenger planes) all get the same type and level of training in say less developed countries as they do in europe and the west!?
im going on an iranian plane in summer and im worried the pilots wont be as good and the planes wont be as maintained as well as more famous airlines!!
PLEASE dont laugh and PLEASE no racist/hijacking/terrorist jokes please!
thanks in advance.

There are distinct differences in pilot training, however ANY passenger aircraft flying in or out of the UK must have suitably trained aircrew in charge. So if you are flying Iranian from Iran to elsewhere, there is a chance that the pilot will NOT be as highly trained as a pilot flying in or out of London Heathrow. It's the CAA's way of keeping Britains air safe.

I personally would not fly internally on any Iranian Airline.

All commercial pilots have to have certain training before they are allowed to captain a passenger aircraft. When some captains change airlines they have to go through additional tests. So the pilot is not a problem but the maintenance of the aircraft is. As long as you chose a good airline you will be safe and sound. Why not fly with Emirates or something??? Just to let you know that for no apparent reason the Americans shot down an Iranian passenger plane few years ago.

No.

Each country has different requirements to be a pilot. Some don't have very much, to others that require quite a bit.

Iranian? Make sure you take out flight insurance with me as the beneficiary.

Yes. that depend on the airline. I if it is a IATA ( like standers for airlines ) the training will be according to the IATA standers that is really high
